Ceylon Adventure Tour Day Plan

Kitulgala

Day 01

Upon touching down at Bandaranaike International Airport, your private guide will meet you and immediately drive you into the lush, green heart of the island. Arrive in Kitulgala, Sri Lanka’s premier adventure hub, and check into your riverside eco-lodge. Spend the afternoon resting from your flight or take a short, independent walk through the surrounding village and rainforest paths.

White water raffting

Day 02

Get your adrenaline pumping right after breakfast by heading to the Kelani River for a thrilling white-water rafting session. Navigate a series of grade-two and grade-three rapids surrounded by thick jungle canopy. Following the rafting, your guide will take you canyoning, where you will slide down natural rock waterslides and jump into deep, clear rainforest rock pools.

Nuwara Eliya

Day 03

Leave the humid lowlands behind and travel up the winding mountain roads toward the cool climate of Nuwara Eliya. Watch the scenery dramatically shift from dense jungle to perfectly manicured, bright green tea estates. Upon arriving in this high-altitude town, spend the afternoon taking a scenic bicycle ride around the perimeter of Lake Gregory or resting up for tomorrow’s early hike.

World's End

Day 04

Wake up before dawn to reach Horton Plains National Park just as the sun rises. Set out on a striking 9-kilometer trek through sweeping grasslands and cloud forests, culminating at World's End—a spectacular cliff with a sheer vertical drop of over 800 meters. In the afternoon, head to the Nanu Oya station to catch the legendary highland train, riding through misty valleys and tea plantations until you reach the backpacker haven of Ella.

Ella

Day 05

Start your morning with a challenging but highly rewarding hike to the summit of Ella Rock, navigating through eucalyptus forests and steep dirt trails to earn a brilliant view of the Ella Gap. After making your way back down, head over to the Flying Ravana adventure park. Strap into Sri Lanka’s longest mega zipline and fly over the lush green valleys at thrilling speeds.

Yala Wild Safari

Day 06

Say goodbye to the cool mountains and drive down into the arid, rugged plains of the deep south. Arrive at your safari camp near Yala National Park just in time for lunch. As the afternoon cools down, jump into a rugged 4x4 jeep for an intensive wildlife safari. Keep your camera ready as you track wild elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears, and the park's famous apex predator, the Sri Lankan leopard.

Weligama

Day 07

Trade the dusty savanna for the salty ocean breeze as you drive along the beautiful southern coastline to the surfing capital of Weligama. Check into your beachfront accommodation, grab a surfboard, and hit the water. Whether you are a total beginner taking your first lesson or an experienced surfer chasing the perfect swell, spend the afternoon riding the Indian Ocean waves.

Mirissa

Day 08

Head over to the neighboring bay of Mirissa early in the morning for a high-speed boat ride into the deep ocean to spot majestic blue whales and playful dolphin pods. Alternatively, if you prefer staying active in the water, take a snorkeling or scuba diving excursion around the vibrant coastal reefs to swim alongside wild sea turtles and colorful marine life.

Galle

Day 09

Travel a short distance up the coast to the historic city of Galle. Spend the morning on a guided bicycle tour through the peaceful Galle countryside, pedaling past vibrant green paddy fields, serene lagoons, and local village markets. In the afternoon, explore the cobblestone streets of the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, finishing your day by watching a spectacular sunset from the ancient Dutch ramparts.

Departure

Day 10

Enjoy your final Sri Lankan breakfast by the ocean. Depending on your flight time, you might have a few hours left for a quick morning swim or some last-minute souvenir shopping in the fort. Your driver will then take you smoothly up the Southern Expressway directly to Bandaranaike International Airport, bringing your epic island adventure to an end.
